Silver Creek Reformed Church is a part of the Reformed Church in America (RCA).
We believe in One God who is revealed in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Bible, the Holy Scriptures, is the inspired Word of God useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. It is our only rule for faith and life.
These Holy Scriptures reveal to us the story of God creating this world good and creating humanity to be like Him, in His image. Yet, this was not enough for humanity as we fell into sin. Now the world is filled with greed, violence, hatred, and sin. But the Good News is that God did not give up on this world. He sent Jesus, who is fully God and fully man, to this earth. By His life, death, resurrection, and ascension He saves us and this world from sin. He saves us not because of good things we have done but by the grace of God. He sends the Holy Spirit upon us to enable us to live for Him. He forms and call us into one people, His Church; which is called to be the presence of Christ in the world to work towards righteousness, justice, mercy, love, and truth until Christ comes again to set all things right.
As a part of the Reformed Church in America we use creeds and confessions to help understand and teach our faith. We affirm the words of the Apostles’ Creed, Nicene Creed, and Athanasian Creed; as well as the Heidelberg Catechism, Belgic Confession, Canons of Dort, and Belhar Confession.
We affirm a traditional view of sexuality, gender and marriage.
Vision Statement:
“We exist to love God and love people by creating a loving and welcoming culture that focuses on making disciples of Jesus Christ.”
